Omori-Ryu Iaido is a system of fencing forms that evolved from the primitive battlefield technique of feudal Japan. It is primarily concerned with methods of drawing, cutting, and resheathing a sword with perfect precision, and stresses complete serenity and clarity of mind. The teachings in this dojo emphasize discipline, details, strength of cutting, and grace.
There are 5 different styles of Japanese swordsmanship that are taught at U.S. Budo Kai-Kan. All beginners start to learn with a wooden sword (boken) and eventually graduate to a live blade. |
